Helping anxiety, stress & habits with proven hypnotherapy.

Hypnosis to overcome the fear of flying. For many people, flying in an aeroplane can be a source of anxiety and fear. This fear, also known as aviophobia, can be debilitating and prevent people from travelling or experiencing new opportunities. However, there is hope for those who suffer from this fear. One effective treatment option is hypnosis.
Hypnosis is a state of consciousness in which a person becomes highly focused and open to suggestion. It is a natural state that can be induced through various techniques, such as guided imagery, progressive muscle relaxation, and guided meditation. During hypnosis, a person’s critical thinking is temporarily suspended, and they become more open to new ideas and perspectives.
Hypnosis can help people overcome their fear of flying by addressing their anxiety’s underlying emotional and psychological causes. For example, a person may fear flying because they had a traumatic experience while flying in the past, such as turbulence or a flight delay. In hypnosis, the person can be guided to revisit the traumatic experience and process it in a way that allows them to overcome the associated fear.
Hypnosis can also address other common fears associated with flying, such as fear of heights, fear of not being in control, and fear of crashing. During hypnosis, a person can be guided to imagine themselves flying and feeling calm, relaxed, and safe. This repetition of positive visualization helps to rewire the person’s brain so that they begin to associate flying with positive emotions instead of negative ones.
Another way hypnosis can be used to overcome the fear of flying is by helping to reduce the overall level of anxiety. It can teach people how to relax and reduce stress, which in turn can help them feel more comfortable and less anxious while flying.
A hypnosis session for the fear of flying typically lasts around 60-90 minutes, and it’s usually done in person with a licensed hypnotherapist. However, in recent years, with the availability of telehealth services, hypnotherapy sessions can also be done remotely through video conferencing.
During the first session, the therapist will usually take a detailed history of the client’s fear of flying, including previous traumatic experiences and specific triggers. They will then work with the client to create a personalized hypnosis script that addresses the particular causes of the fear of flying.
Once the script is developed, the client will be guided into hypnosis, where they will be instructed to visualize themselves flying and feeling calm, safe, and in control. The therapist will continue to guide the client throughout the session, providing positive affirmations and suggestions designed to reduce anxiety and overcome the fear of flying.
After the session, the client will usually be given a recording of the hypnosis session to use at home as part of their self-help program. It’s recommended that the client should use the recording for several weeks, as repetition is vital to changing the associations in their mind.
Fear of flying is a common problem that can be debilitating for many people. However, there is hope for those who suffer from this fear. Hypnosis is an effective treatment option that can help people overcome their fear of flying by addressing the underlying emotional and psychological causes of their fear. By working with a licensed hypnotherapist, clients can learn how to relax, reduce anxiety, and overcome the fear of flying. With the appropriate guidance and repetition, hypnosis can help people fly confidently and enjoy new opportunities.
